BIG5 is very difficult to parse when it's mixed with English characters, I'll see if I can come up with something though.

IMO, tail -f is ok for chat logs, chat log doesn't need instant refresh,
some delays are tolerable.

tmux is similiar to screen, but with more powerful vertical split capability.
screen will do the job too, but screen will lose its layout after detach ...

the best way to achieve this might be using tmux.
though something like #split 6 1 could do,
but using tmux is just more flexible for the layout

Setting the CHARSET config option will also handle word wrapping.

Keep in mind that tt++ parses data before your terminal does, so if the MUD sends BIG5 data you should use: #config CHARSET BIG5.

hey, I guess this will no longer be an issue.
I tried 2.00.4 with #define UTF8, and play with GNU screen to do the encoding stuff, everything just work like a charm Big Smile

when some actions are triggered, I always get the following one line cut in half. well, not always, but about 80% of the time.
I'm playing a chinese mud, so I'm not sure if it's a big5 issue or some ...
