I updated the download section of the website and put up the sourcecode and a windows/linux build. There's no OSX build since I'm expecting several critical bugs to be reported and I can't readily produce an OSX binary.

http://tintin.sourceforge.net/download.php

This update has multiple back-ward compatibility issues, I'm sorry for that, but I figured to do it all at once rather than spread it out over a year. Not sure if that was all that bright of an idea.

I've updated the news section with a summary of all the important changes.

Did the fixes to the following two minor bugs make it into this release?

- Session names need to be prioritized over tintin commands
(eg. #h should send command to session h if it exists rather than trigger #help)

- Trouble using aliases to use tintin command (See one of my previous posts about a problem I had with #all) (I will try to look it up and put a link in here if you like)

I am still using my patched version, but if these issues are fixed, I can get back to official releases.

Thanks!

I've updated the script section for 1.99.7 compatibility.

http://tintin.sourceforge.net/scripts/

I also made another update to the beta file to allow #echo {{text} {row}} so #echo has the ability to print to rows like #showme does. For example:
Code:

#echo {{%t}{1}} {%H:%M}

Also curious as to why the 1.99.6b vs staying with 1.99.7 Betas...

I think I jumped to the conclusion that 1.99.6b was a maintenance release for 1.99.6 vs rolling in new features from 1.99.7

Sorry for my confusion!

Greg

The #h and aliasing problem should be fixed in the betas.

Normally I'd have jumped straight to 1.99.7 with a new release, but I made so many changes that I decided to go with slower numbering since I want 2.0 to be as stable as possible.

I can already see loads of improvements I can make with named sub-variables....lots of fun ahead :-D

Could we have access to the older versions tho? I've just had to do a PC rebuild, got my scripts backed up, but not the wintin/tintin binaries...and all my scripts are acting up (obviously I've got a fair bit of re-writing to do, I use a LOT of lists)

The official name is associative array, but they're also called associative container, map, mapping, hash, and dictionary.

The 1.99.6 and older releases can be downloaded here:

Updated the online manual, feel free to report it if anything is incorrect or missing.

Also added %i and %I arguments for triggers. %i enables case insensitive matching, %I enables case sensitive matching. These can be used for the entire trigger or subsections of a trigger.

Changed the beta code so variables in triggers are substituted the moment they are set. For old variable in trigger behavior you need to use $$variable instead of $variable. The same goes for #unaction and other #un commands.

Probably gonna be another one or two weeks.

You can try compiling from source, in which case you'll likely have to install pcre as well: http://pcre.darwinports.com/
