Sometimes I run a ticker to send a #cr every second, so I can see my status prompt update.

Assuming there is no other output from the mud, the prompts end up stacking up on the line, like this:

Quote:
474Hp> 474Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 554Hp>

which is fine.

The problem is once the prompts fill up a line, the line gets repeated each time a new prompt appears:

Quote:
474Hp> 474Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 554Hp> 554Hp>
554Hp>

Quote:
474Hp> 474Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 554Hp> 554Hp>
474Hp> 474Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 554Hp> 554Hp>
554Hp> 554Hp>

Quote:
474Hp> 474Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 554Hp> 554Hp>
474Hp> 474Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 554Hp> 554Hp>
474Hp> 474Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 514Hp> 554Hp> 554Hp>
554Hp> 554Hp> 554Hp>

etc...
As you see, this gets really spammy.

You can probably write a #sub to substitute two prompts into one.

I'm planning to get rid of the code that causes this, so then this bug will vanish as well.

Resuscitating old threads!

Did this code ever get removed? ;-) Or perhaps the question should be re-phrased; Can one send a 'true' linefeed to the mud, one that behaves the same was as a manual return would? I have tried to trick it with #send but to no avail...

I have the same problem as above, with the added extra of a feature called superbrief, which essentially means that no input get sent back from the mud so executing all kinds of commands just stacks up the prompt.

I forgot what this whole thing was about.

One thing that might work is using: #tick {bla} {#cr;#showme} {1}

Maybe using #cursor enter will work, not sure. I'll leave a note in my todo list.

Brilliant! The #showme without arguments did the trick. #cursor enter did just make a linefeed and did not even give a new prompt. But, alas, problem solved Smile Again, thanks!
