I recently figured out that the font smoothing in xp is what makes the speed of the text crippling in wintin++. If I receive numerous lines rapidly input slows down nearly to a halt, I type in commands in the split line but it won't show up unless the wall of text is completely received from the mud.
Also it affects my whole trigger/script system. I was about to switch back to mushclient which is extremely fast in terms of displaying text, but otherwise it is so confusing to use and it don't have substitute/replace text feature, and no #prompt or equivalent command at all.
Solution: turn off font smoothing completely in Windows XP. |
