I feel like the instructions are not up to date. Some of the packages you must install are not available. I know your busy but just letting you know.

Off hand do you know what the problem items are - is it a version issue or is a mentioned item absorbed into another package or what...

gcc-ming2-g++ is not there but there is
gcc-mingw-g++

Nothing that resembles the pcre package is listed under devel

There is currently version "8.30-1" of "pcre(utilites)" under "Text" in the Cygwin "Ports" - the bleeding edge and other off-piste parts of Cygwin here if that is of any use (also "libpcre-devel(development)" & "libpcre1(UTF-8 runtime)" with the same version).

Also here you can find:
"gcc-mingw-core" - Minggw32 support headers and libraries for GCC
"gcc-mingw-g++" - Minggw32 support headers and libraries for GCC C++
there, currently at version "20050522-3"...

Read the installation instructions for the "Cygwin Ports" carefully, if you do not wish to foul up an existing Cygwin installation - you do get a wider variety of packages but they may not be as well integrated or play as well together as the normal Cygwin versions!

OK, on a PC (Windoze XP Pro SP3, and up to date according to Micro$oft update) which had not seen Cygwin before, to get TinTin++ to compile besides the default packages that the standard Cywgin Setup.exe (disregard my immediately previous posting) installs by default I needed to add (current version numbers in brackets but they will have changed if you are looking at this post in future Cool ):

In "Devel" Section:
    gcc-mingw-core (2005052203)
make (3.82.90-1, though I initially was offered 3.81-2)
In "Text" Section:
    pcre (8.31-1)
In "Libs" Section:
    libpcre-devel (8.31-1)
In both "Devel" and "Lib" (linked, so can be selected from either)
    zlib-devel (1.2.7-1)
Also you need to ensure that the "Select required packages" is enabled when you get to the "Cygwin Setup - Resolving Dependencies" dialogue box - there will be quite a few! Hope this helps. Coffee
