My current shortcut for wintin++ is:
"C:\Program Files\WinTin++\putty.exe" bin\tt++.exe

but when I try to run it, this is what it says:

Unable to open connection to bin/tt++.exe : Host does not exist

I have no idea how else to get it to start. Help?

Make sure you have cthelper.exe in the WinTin++ directory.

Make sure you have the putty.exe from http://gecko.gc.maricopa.edu/~medgar/puttycyg in the WinTin++ directory.

Copy paste in the shortcut:

"C:\Program Files\WinTin++\putty.exe" bin/tt++

That should do the trick.

Yes, I've done all that, sorry for the mix up with the slash. I've tried:

"C:\Program Files\WinTin++\putty.exe" bin/tt++
"C:\Program Files\WinTin++\putty.exe" bin/tt++.exe

putty.exe, cthelper.exe, and puttytel.exe are in the directory, and tt++ was copied to the main directory also for good measure.

Same error.

I've had it acting up as well a couple of times and haven't been able to pinpoint what the problem was.

One known issue is having Cygwin installed. If you have Cygwin installed you can copy tt++.exe to Cygwin's bin directory and use: "C:\Program Files\WinTin++\putty.exe" tt++

An unexplained issue I've had is that wintin++ stopped working in the wintin++ directory, but when I copied all the files to a different/new directory they worked flawless.

Just figured out the unexplained issue, I had set the compatibility mode of the executables to windows 95. Been bugging me for the past 3 months.

I tried putting tt++ in a directory that was in path and running it, still didn't work. Didn't work when I put it in a folder that had dos compliant names as well (i.e. short). Nor do I have any compatibility settings set. Confused

You're running Win XP right?

Regardless, I've been playing around with using puttycyg instead of rxvt for wintin++. I can send you an installer when I'm finished and see if that gets the job done.
