Ok, I log in to the mud (ff.mud.de:23) and then this happens, all of the time (tried several many times with different terminal settings). Connecting with tinifugue 5.0 works fine, but I like tintin++ much more.
Is there a way to disable MCCP, or do you have an idea what could be wrong?

Code:
SENT IAC DONT ECHO

Du hast dich zuletzt ausgeloggt am xxx xxx xx xx:xx:xx xxxx von
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
-------------------- Neuigkeiten (bitte mit 'neues' lesen) --------------------
  312  Usenet im Mud                               Peng        25.02.08 20:52
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Weiter mit Return.

#COMPRESSION ERROR, RESETTING MCCP.
SENT DONT MCCP2
SENT IAC DO MCCP2
#IAC BAD TELOPT 39
#IAC BAD TELOPT 151

And the following transmission is only garbage.
Text sent to the mud seems to get transmitted fine, though.

No error for me, so I guess it's some kind of packet fragmentation issue.

I'll add moving the packet patch config option to a lower level, and I'll also look into a config option to disable mccp.

You can edit telopt.c, go to the send_do_mccp2 function around row 732, comment out the socket_printf call, and recompile. That should disable mccp.

Just to confirm, I am also seeing this issue in 1.98.2, on a different mud. Seems to work fine in zmud, tinyfugue, and mcl. I'll investigate it more when I get the chance.

I had a quick peek at mcl, and saw an easy way to go about checking for broken packets, so I'll give that a try for the next release.

I needed to let you know that disabling the MCCP made my life so much easier. I'm making a Proxy in Python and I was having so much trouble trying to decode the MCCP inbetween the MUD and TinTin. Now all I have to watch out for is Telopt codes and color.

Thank you again for the search function, TinTin and all the wonderful things.

This is still not fixed for me with the latest tintin release. I still can see this issue. Any idea to work this around without recompilation?

It makes #actionS a little bit difficult for me to use, which is ... big loss.

Strangely enough, it only happens to me when there is so much output text expected.

Thank you for all your hard work. I really love tintin Smile

Hard for me to fix without an easy way for me to recreate the error.

There is the #config mccp off option now, but I know mccp is quite nice to have.

Made a change to the mccp routine that might fix this issue. Updated the beta.
