Hi,

I run into the following error when I try to install tt++ like described on http://tintin.sourceforge.net/install.php upon make command:

gcc -Wall -O2 -pipe -D_GNU_SOURCE -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -c action.c
In file included from action.c:28:
tintin.h:37:18: error: pcre.h: No such file or directory
In file included from action.c:28:
tintin.h:562: error: expected specifier-qualifier-list before 'pcre'
tintin.h:1230: error: expected ')' before '*' token
tintin.h:1233: error: expected declaration specifiers or '...' before 'pcre'
tintin.h:1234: error: expected '=', ',', ';', 'asm' or '__attribute__' before '*' token
*** Error code 1

Any ideas what is wrong ?

Thanks,
Max

You need to install pcre.

If you got pcre but make can't find it check pcre-config --libs and use ./configure -libdir=<dir provided by pcre-config> - though I'm not 100% sure that's the correct way to go about it.

More or less the same way you install tintin++.

1) download pcre: http://www.pcre.org/
2) Login as root
3) ./configure
4) make
5) make install

Then you should be good to go when it comes to installing tt++.

Either ask the admin to install it, or compile pcre in your home directory and use ./configure -libdir= pointing it at the place where you got pcre compiled at. You might have pcre-config locally to show you the exact directory.
