I don't think this is possible now is it?

If this functionality was provided it would open up a world of possibilities for GUI wrappers and other application interfacing besides just having tintin send commands to other programs one way.

The genesis of this idea is to allow us, the community, to extend the client for users who just can't buy in to the CLI without you having to spend needless time coding the GUI's for different platforms.

If you modify a terminal emulator you can create a VT100 like command set for GUI instructions, and the terminal itself can send input to the client, so all that would be required is a VT100 like command that tt++ would recognize from the terminal.

If someone is willing to modify a terminal emulator I'll be happy to discuss/create a communication standard for tt++ to adopt.

Wouldn't this limit the communication to tintin to only come from the terminal emulator instead of any miscellaneous program?

You can run any command line program within tintin++ using the #run command, including programs that in theory should allow communication with external programs.
