If there is a 'room' in the map which is an 'inn' or a 'cottage' (for example) which in itself is made up of several rooms, is there a way to create a map for this as a separate area but still link into it from the main map. I am thinking - for example - if you arrive at the N entrance to Cottage you would 'jump' to the Hall room - you would then follow the map around in the cottage until you left by one of the three exits - which would then drop you back into the main map at a designated room? The only method I came up with involved a lot of void rooms in between which made things look a bit messy on the map.

Depending on what you are trying to accomplish I may have solution for you. While all the rooms will stay in one map, you can make the display of the map output change using the #map exitflag <direction> hide. So if you want all the surrounding rooms to disappear when you enter the first room in the cottage, you could use that.

Thanks for this. Exactly what I needed for areas that even you go "west" you're effectively going under another area.

Note that the "rest" of the map will not disappear until you have flagged all the exits from the "building" this way - which might seem a bit confusing when you start. Also you will probably want to exitflag hide the corresponding routes from the other directions, the flag only applies to the exit from the room that it is set for, not the entrance... Big Smile
