When trying to execute this backstab alias

Code:
#ALIAS {bs}={tt %1;#send backstab $target} @ {5}

Code:

[slQvwfp] <510/510hp 205/285m 594/599mv 100br> [AL -970 AC -47][LPK][-]> bs man
[18] bs man
#DEBUG ALIAS {bs} {man}
[10] if {"man" == ""}
[05] endif
[06] else
[02]     send bs man
[05] endif
#DEBUG SUBSTITUTE {%1 makes a strange sound but is suddenly very silent, as you place the %2 in %3 back.$} {Hamryck makes a strange sound but is suddenly very silent, as you place the dagger of
Venom in his back.}

That seems a bit weird - the debug trace shows the expansion of a "bs" #ALIAS but it is NOT the one that you have just defined:
Code:
#ALIAS {bs} {tt %1;#send backstab $target}{5}
Instead it appears to be:
Code:
#ALIAS {bs} {#IF { "%1" == "" } {} {#SEND {bs %1}}}{5}

BTW what is the tt %1, something that sets the $TARGET variable?

the tt alias is part of a targeting script.

Code:
#ALIAS {tt}={#if {"%1" == ""} {#showme <afa>Current Target: <aff>[<abf>$target<aff>];#showme <afa>Target List<aff>[<abf>$targets[%*]<aff>]} {#var target %0;#list targets ins -1 %0;#showme<aff>[<119>%0<aff>]<129> Set as target/added to list.;fkeyshow}} @ {5}
