Hi,

I just tried updating from Version 1.95.6 to the most current pre-made build for OS X, and it caused the MUD to double echo things like:

Welcome to the Mud!
Welcome to the Mud!

Press enter to begin your journey!
Press enter to begin your journey!

And when hitting <enter> it would double echo my prompt. I switched back to the older version until I can figure this one out. Thanks.

I'll look into it. Are you using #config {packet patch} ?

I don't know what #config {packet patch} is. I unpacked the executable, fired it up, noticed that #session now takes the port as its own parameter, updated those aliases, and logged into my MUD to discover the double echoes. Those are the only steps I've taken.

Thanks for looking into it!

I can't quite figure out what's wrong since things seem to work alright on my test muds.

Could I have the address of the mud you play?

Also, do you use #split, and does the problem occur when you use tintin without loading any files?

ginka.armageddon.org 4050

I do use #split and after testing it seems that only when #split is on does the double echo occur. I also tested before and after using #read and that doesn't seem to have an effect on the issue.

My aliases are:

Code:

1.95.6: #ALIAS {arm} {#ses {armmud} {ginka.armageddon.org 4050}} {5}

1.97.5: #ALIAS {arm} {#ses {armmud} {ginka.armageddon.org} {4050}} {5}

Located the #config params you mentioned:

Code:

#CONFIG           {SPEEDWALK}             {ON}
#CONFIG           {VERBATIM}              {OFF}
#CONFIG           {REPEAT ENTER}          {OFF}
#CONFIG           {ECHO COMMAND}          {OFF}
#CONFIG           {VERBOSE}               {OFF}
#CONFIG           {WORDWRAP}              {ON}
#CONFIG           {LOG}                   {RAW}
#CONFIG           {BUFFER SIZE}           {5000}
#CONFIG           {SCROLL LOCK}           {ON}
#CONFIG           {HISTORY SIZE}          {1000}
#CONFIG           {CONNECT RETRY}         {60}
#CONFIG           {PACKET PATCH}          {0}
#CONFIG           {TINTIN CHAR}           {#}
#CONFIG           {VERBATIM CHAR}         {\\}
#CONFIG           {REPEAT CHAR}           {!}

Thanks for looking into this.

Edit: Fixed confusing typos.

Yup, looks like #split is acting up again.

I'll see what I can do Smile
