Quote:
#al target
#ALIAS {target}={#var target %1} @ {5}
target funkee
#var target
#VARIABLE {target}={funkee}
#al eg
#ALIAS {eg}={exa gun %1} @ {5}
eg
There is no gun funkee here.

%1's value is persisting to subsequent commands as demonstrated with the call to "eg" -- it's retaining the last value. This is new behavior. If there is no arguments following the command, I'd expect %1 to be "". I'd expect to be able to have "eg" = "exa gun" and "eg 2" = "exa gun 2".

The classic usage which does the same thing is:

#ALIAS {eg} {exa gun}

It should automatically append any argument.

#ALIAS {eg} {exe gun %0} should work correctly as well.

I'll try to fix this for the next release though.

That's the way I used to have my aliases work, just assume the rest of the string. When I installed 1.98, this functionality was changed so I replaced all my aliases with the explicit {eg}={exa gun %1}.

Nice to see the old way is back!

Thanks for the response.
